Hi Norbu, I just want to let you know that our trip has been wonderful. The birding has been exceptional with 268 species so far for me and nearly all of the iconic birds of Bhutan found and viewed.

Upon returning home this week, I’m filled with gratitude for the excellence and kindness of my wonderful bird guide, Pema, and skilled driver, Om.

We went with “Wild Nature Quest” (Bhutan Birding) to see the birds, cultural sights and trek in Bhutan. They are an A+ company! The owner, Mr. Norbu, worked with us to meticulously plan our 12 day trip. The company is locally owned & uses certified, local bird, cultural guides, & drivers. The driver’s skills are as important as the guide’s – given Bhutan’s sometimes challenging roads.

It was a huge success, not least because Pema was an excellent guide and Tashi a very good, safe driver. In addition to their skills they were kind, helpful and considerate. Pema’s eyes were amazing. Changing our itinerary twice didn’t seem to be a problem though it probably was. Bhutan is a wonderful country with gentle, kind people. I felt sad to leave.

Norbu was a great guide and we would have no hesitation in recommending him to any keen birder visiting Bhutan. He was extremely knowledgeable on the calls and had an intimate knowledge of all the Country’s birding sites and specifically he knew exactly where all the key species occurred. He organized the logistics for the trip superbly and everything ran like clock work.

What a great country, and an amazing company! The itinerary was perfectly crafted for us by Norbu, and our guide Tshering was excellent. With his guidance we spotted 315 species in 15 days, and got lots of amazing photos, including almost all the specialities – White-bellied Heron, Satyr Tragopan, Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Ward’s Trogon, Beautiful Nuthatch, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Fire-tailed Sunbird, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Spotted Elachura, etc etc!

It was a privilege to experience the breathtaking beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality of your country. Sherab and Dorji were exceptional. Sherab’s expertise and dedication brought us unforgettable birding experiences, while Dorji’s exemplary driving ensured we always felt safe and well cared for. The camping crew was also outstanding, and I deeply appreciate their hard work and kindness. Please extend my best wishes to them all.
