Our trip grading system is designed to help you choose a tour that matches your fitness level and expectations. Whether you prefer a relaxed birding experience, a moderate nature walk, or a challenging trek, we ensure the best comfort and support throughout.

1. Leisurely (Grade 1) – Easy & Relaxed

This grade is ideal for travelers who prefer minimal physical activity and maximum comfort. These trips involve sightseeing and birding in easily accessible locations, with transportation provided in high-end vehicles.
  • Best For Best For: Casual travelers, families, and birdwatchers who want a relaxed journey.
  • Walking Distance Walking Distance: Short walks (1-2 hours per day).
  • Terrain Terrain: Mostly flat, well-maintained paths.
  • Altitude Range Altitude Range: Below 2,000 meters (6,500 feet).
  • Example Tours Example Tours: Cultural sightseeing, short birding tours, monastery visits.

2. Moderate (Grade 2) – Active & Adventurous

These tours involve a mix of walking, nature exploration, and moderate hiking. Ideal for travelers who enjoy birding in diverse habitats or want a more immersive Bhutanese experience.
  • Best For Best For: Birding enthusiasts, nature lovers, and active travelers.
  • Walking Distance Walking Distance: 4-7 hours per day.
  • Terrain Terrain: Includes some uneven trails with gentle ascents/descents.
  • Altitude Range Altitude Range: Up to 4,000 meters (13,100 feet).
  • Example Tours Example Tours: Extended birding tours in remote forests, nature and cultural walks, short trekking tours like the Druk Path Trek.

3. Challenging (Grade 3) – Strenuous & Demanding

These tours require a high level of physical fitness. Travelers must be prepared for long hikes, high-altitude birding, and multi-day trekking expeditions.
  • Best For Best For: Trekking enthusiasts and experienced birdwatchers.
  • Walking Distance Walking Distance: 6-8+ hours per day.
  • Terrain Terrain: Steep ascents, rugged trails, and remote wilderness.
  • Altitude Range Altitude Range: Up to 5,000 meters (16,400 feet).
  • Example Tours Example Tours: High-altitude birding expeditions in alpine regions, trekking adventures like the Dagala Trek.
